Fourteenth Firefly - [voice/action]
[Seto knew something was wrong when he woke up. Baldr had even been acting weird. So he tried to contact Lightning over the journals. She should've come home from her mission by now. Baldr was no doubt just anxious to get back to her. But when he tried to set up a filter, it instantly broke.
He knows just as much as anyone what a broken filter means, and even when someone's on a mission, something like this doesn't happen. But despite knowing he went to her house with Baldr and found that all trace of her was gone. The dog had gone around the house and sniffed about for his owner but there was nothing. Not even the clothes in her closet were there.
It was just so bare. What he feared was true.
When he returned home, he took a minute to sit down with the dog and hug him, burying his face into his black fur as the tears threaten to ove. It hurt, knowing that yet another one of his friends was now gone. Nagisa, Terra, Kazuma and now her. Lightning being another one of those who was very important to him. Especially considering what had happened between them not too long ago. He wanted to fix them. To fix what he had broken.
It takes him a few minutes before he finally grabs his journal and opens it up to make the annoucement. It’s been a while since he’s done something like this so for a good few seconds, there’s nothing but silence as he tries to bring himself to say those words.]
…Lightning has been sent home. [Said gently and sadly. He pets Baldr's head as he lays down beside him.]
I… don’t know if she left anything behind for anyone. I went to her house but nothing’s there. [Granted he didn’t snoop around but he felt it was wrong to do so, even though she isn’t here anymore.
He still feels like he has to be careful where he steps when it comes to her. He wanted to gain her trust back, he was slowly getting there but now… no, come now Seto, maybe she’ll come back one day. And he can try again, even start from scratch if he has to.
“Friends always see each other again.”
Right…
He isn't sure what else to say so there's a long pause before he speaks up again.] Does anyone want to go on a walk with Baldr and I? I know it’s cold but I think he’s sad… [Seto’s no expert on dogs by any means, he’s more of a cat whisperer, but still. Maybe a walk will do him some kind of good. Seto too.
Whether anyone has decided to join him or not, a little bit after his entry goes up, Seto will be walking around the village bundled up with a big black dog at his side. He’ll be seen just about anywhere around the village so feel free to bug him!]

Yeah let's keep Seto's limbs in one piece plsTo be honest, Seto was just as wary and unsure of the dogs here in Luceti when he first arrived. He knew firsthand how hostile the dogs were back home, having to fight them and fend them off more than he could count so the fear of the dogs here being the same was planted in his mind. Though actually it was Baldr and Lightning that helped him get over that fear! Funny how things end up.
Seto grabs his coat and puts it on along with a scarf and walks out the door, giving Crow a gentle smile] Let's go then.
[action]
Right! [He's going to take his best friend's sleeve now to help pull him along, get him walking a little faster--no mopey walking adventures to be had here! Once he thinks Seto isn't gonna be dragging his heels or something, he'll let go to turn around, walking backwards a little as he points at the dog.] So what's it's name again? "Baldr" or something right?

He chuckles a little when he's pulled along but does nothing to fight it or try to slow them down and just keeps up with his pace. Baldr does the same but takes some time to sniff around when he feels the need to.]
Yeah, it's Baldr.
[action]
[He means that more in the permanent way, not in the temporary way like how he likely asked the first time the dog showed up at the house with Seto, before waving it off with a "fine whatever" or something at the time?]

[Because he's taking Crow's words of wisdom and believing that he will in fact see his friend again one day. He takes a look at Baldr for a moment, patting him on the head with his free hand before looking back at his best friend]
Is that all right with you?
[action]
Well it doesn't seem like one of those annoying dogs that were back at the park, so I guess it doesn't matter if it stays or not until this Lightning person comes back. [There's a slight pause before he is quick to add more.] But it better not touch or mess with any of my stuff, got it?
[action]
He won't, I promise! Baldr doesn't mess with anyone's stuff anyways. [BECAUSE HE'S A GOOD POOPY]

[Stares at the dog as if expecting it to suddenly cut into this conversation.....] Then why hasn't it said anything yet?
[action]
[Not that Seto can blame him right now. He just lost his owner so it's kinda understandable as to why he isn't exactly being conversational.]
Try asking him a question.
[action]
Hey, can you actually talk and say stuff? [...Yeah Crow just gets straight to the point first before asking any potentially ridiculous questions yet.]

Baldr will simply look up at Crow for a moment when he realizes the question is directed at him, stares at then in a barking motion: ]
Yes! [Seto smiles] See?

[That is so cool.] Can you say anything else?
[action]
Like what?

Like...I don't know, what's it like being a dog?
[Yeah okay we don't know what kind of things this dog should be talking about but that's a normal thing to be curious, right?]

Baldr thinks it's fun! Baldr likes to play with Seto and Lightning.

Oh yeah? What do you like to play?

...Is there any sticks or stuff around here we could throw to try to get this dog to run after it?]

He just wags his tail] Do you know how to play fetch, Crow?

[That's almost like the game we played except that it would probably be a very good thing that Crow didn't throw your locket somewhere... ^^;;]

[one moment, leaning down and looking around to see if we can find something here in the snow that we could toss, since we're definitely not throwing any of our stuff out there right now...after a moment he manages to rescue a stick out from the snow.] Will this work?

[The dog jumps a little, tail wagging excitedly] Yes! Stick!
