Sixth Firefly - [Voice]/[Action]

[Lately all Seto can think about is home, probably because he has nothing better to do when laying in his bed.  Images of what's left of the cities and small villages flash through his mind.  Everything is so dominated by the wildlife he has no idea what it could have been like for those who lived there before...whatever happened to his world.  

But it dawns on him, other people must've lived in an alternate Japan right?  So why not ask them?  It'll give him something to do too so might as well.]

I've heard that some people here are from Japan.  A different Japan than other's but they're all similar in some way and I was wondering...what's it like there?  Are there a lot of people?  Is the red tower special?

[He goes quiet for a moment then lets out a soft, almost sad sounding chuckle]  I'm sorry, I'm just a little curious... [A pause] O-Of course I wouldn't mind hearing about other worlds too.  Anything is fine..

[Action]

[Once the sun goes down, Seto will be out on the roof of community building three, just laying there to stare up at the stars.  To be honest it brings him comfort when he stares at shining lights in the sky.  For the past ten years at home, they have been his only company since his grandpa and him never really talked all too much, especially near the end of his life.

In any case, he'll be up there for a good majority of the night, he may even fall asleep]

Really?? Were the stars like this back home? [He wants to hear alllll about your home Nagisa. So he kinda looks at her, returning the smile, then looking back at the sky when she does]

Ahh good. I'm glad! I was worried.

Pretty much, yep! They were a little harder to see at home though since the town I lived in was really big--almost big enough for people to sometimes call it a city. Lots of lights and all. But it was still really nice.

[He chuckles.

AHH so jealous of you Nagisa you have no idea. He has no clue what it would be like living in such a place since his world is well...messed up pretty bad. But he stares back at her] Is that what a city is like?

[Action!]

Kind of. Cities are normally really busy, big, and have lots of lights. Like Tokyo. I don't think you can really see the stars at all in those places. But Hikarizaka is a really small city, so you can still see them.

[Action!]

Oh.... [Going quiet. He wants to see Japan like that one day, even though it's practically impossible in his world. It's upsetting to say the least]

[Nagisa notices the quietness and frowns. A-ahh... did she say something wrong?] U-um... I-I'm sorry.

[Action!]

[He blinks at the sudden apology and instantly feels bad] W-What are you apologizing for??

[Action!]

O-oh, well, you seemed disappointed, s-so... [..awkward. Now she feels slightly embarrassed. Umm.]

[Action!]

O-Oh! W-Well I just wish I could see something like that back home one day, that's all. [Not that it'll happen but he has hopes]

[Action!] I'm so going to regret bringing this up.

Oh... um, if you don't mind me asking, where are you from, Seto? What's your home like?

[Action!] yes, yes you are

[Okay, now he's going to go quite again Nagisa. Should he tell her the truth or tell her a lie...? He doesn't want her to be sad for his sake but he doesn't want to lie to her of all people. They're friends...]

It's...empty. [Good enough description right?]

[Action!] even more so.

[Nope. Not quite. Nagisa's still curious. Worried now, but curious.]

...Empty?

Y-Yeah...

[How to put this delicately....is there a way to do such a thing when his world is as it is?] There aren't...any people around anymore... [Better than saying that they're flat out dead]

[Action!]

[Nagisa just goes quiet, unsure of what to say. No people around? What happened? Did they leave? Are they... dead? She's not sure if she should even press on about this. So all she can think of to say is-]

I-I see...

[Action!]

[Seto flusters a little and tries his best to smile for her. C'mon, don't frown or anything now Nagisa!]

B-But I had my grandfather so it wasn't all too lonely...[Even though it really was]

[Action!]

[...Just one person other than himself?]

...O-oh... T-then that's good, at least. I'm glad you weren't too lonely.

[Action!]

U-Uh huh!

[At this point though he just lets the smile fade slowly as his eyes begin to burn with that feeling like he's going to cry. Which if Nagisa can catch it, his eyes are watering so he quickly puts an arm over his eyes and forces a smile, his voice shaking]

I-I wasn't lonely at all..

[Action!]

[She doesn't notice his watering eyes, but she does look at him when he covers his eyes with his arm. The voice shaking is noted as well. She tries to move her head to where she may be able to see his arm-covered face but... that doesn't really work, of course.]

...Seto..?

[Action!]

[Seto moves his arms but still covers his eyes as he starts to rub them with his hands though a few stray tears may roll down the sides of his face as he bites his lip]

[Action!]

[Then she sees it. O-oh god... did she say something wrong? Well, more importantly, did she upset him? Make him cry...?]

...I-I'm sorry...

[Action!]

[Come on Seto, now is not the time for this! Especially not in front of Nagisa! So wiping his eyes with his sleeve, he takes a deep breath, exhaling shakily]

D-Don't apologize! You didn't do anything wrong...

[Action!]

B-but... you're... [Crying. Seto's crying, and Nagisa feels like it's completely her fault.] ...A-are you sure...?

[Action!]

I'm sure! Please don't feel bad...please.. [He sits up and frowns. Even if she had done something wrong, which she didn't, he would never blame her]

[Action!]

[Starting to actually cry at this point, she runs her eyes, trying to wipe the incoming tears away.]

O-Okay... I-if you say so...

[Action!]

[ OHAOGhwarg God what did he just do. He is a horrible protector. So gently he pulls Nagisa into a small hug, holding her gently like she's the most fragile thing in this world]

Don't cry Nagisa...
